Tsundoku Watch

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 12, 2026

Tsundoku Watch is a browser extension that keeps your AniList anime list in sync with what you watch on Crunchyroll. It is built to do that one job and to touch as little of your data as possible.

What the extension reads

When you watch on Crunchyroll, or when you click sync on your Crunchyroll history or watchlist, the extension reads only:

It does not read your Crunchyroll account details, payment information, viewing beyond titles and episode numbers, or any other page you visit.

How that information is used

The series and episode information is sent to Tsundoku (asktsundoku.com), which matches it to the correct AniList entry and updates your watch progress on your own AniList account. That is the only thing it is used for. Nothing is sold, shared with advertisers, or transferred to any third party, and it is never used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or lending.

Authentication

To update your list on your behalf, the extension reads your own Tsundoku session cookie for the asktsundoku.com origin and sends it only to asktsundoku.com so your requests are authenticated as you. Sign-in uses AniList's own OAuth flow through Tsundoku — the extension never sees your AniList password, and no other site's cookies are accessed.

What is stored, and where

The extension keeps a small amount of data in your browser's local extension storage:

This data stays on your device. Removing the extension deletes it. The only data that leaves your browser is the watch progress sent to asktsundoku.com to update your AniList list.
